ONDILI lodges & activities have been nominated for the coveted international tourism award at multimedia competition „Das goldene Stadttor“.
The world no. 1 in the film print and multimedia competition takes place for the 14th time and ensures in the tourism industry worldwide sensation. The award ceremony takes place during the fair right at the ITB Berlin. Awarded are different categories, which are judged by an international jury. It can thereby be brought all the works with tourist background. The finalists will be awarded in the different categories with the gold, silver and bronze award. The best film contribution from all categories will be awarded at the end with the “Diamond Award”.


The announcement of the winner is carried out at the award ceremony in the ITB-Cinema. Area 155 on Thursday, March 10 Hall 3.1 (Caribbean-hall) at 15:30.
In the category ‘Roadshow’ – presentation of a destination, a country, city, region or place has the Hohenstein Lodge, Member of ONDILI lodges & activities in Namibia, this year with SMALL MINER a documentary on the life and work of small mine operators at Hohenstein the highest mountain of the Erongo mountains in Central Namibia, attended.
The film shows in a factual representation of the situation of the so-called ‘small-miners’ in recounting but exciting. Social aspects and opportunities for the local population participate in tourism, are shown as well as breathtaking landscapes.


The Hohenstein Lodge offers guests an authentic insight into the daily lives of minerals seekers who are looking for on the steep slopes of the mountain range by semi-precious stones such as tourmaline, aquamarine, fluorite or quartzites.
On a guided tour of work and homes of small mine operators are visited, who spend their lives under privation conditions on the mountain and as prospectors in the hope to find a lifetime discovery.


The film was made to give our guests who regularly return after their own experiences of encounter with the minerals investigators with many questions to the lodge further information. It is shown regularly in the evening at the lodge.
