What to do at Hohenstein??

2006_10 068

You can also go mountain climbing on your own in the communal area of the Hohenstein Massif north of the Boulder Forest. Seasoned mountain climbers will be able to cover the distance from the lodge to the peak of Hohenstein in one day. Next to it, experienced climbers have turned the side of the mountain into a climbing wall by installing hooks. Due to time restraints, this tour does not lead to the peak but is highly interesting and offers excellent views.

Climbing is strictly at your own risk since the area is not part of our farm but is situated in the Communal Area.

You will find a detailed report about the first exploration of this route located in Namibia’s Erongo Mountains under the title of “Klettern Im Reich des Leoparden†(“Climbing in the Kingdom of the Leopardâ€) under the following link “climbingâ€.
